Tuyết Tofu
About This Spot
Stepping into Tuyết Tofu feels like being welcomed into a quiet corner of Vietnam tucked away in the heart of Dallas. This modest, family-run spot hums with a gentle, unhurried rhythm—where the clatter of frying tofu and the soft murmur of friendly exchanges shape a warm, familiar atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and appreciate the simple, honest rhythms of daily life.
The space carries the unmistakable charm of a neighborhood treasure, where local regulars drift in and out and the owners, a husband and wife, are quietly attentive without fuss. There’s a subtle intimacy here—not flamboyant or flashy—but quietly comforting, punctuated by moments of shared human connection over fresh, thoughtfully prepared food.
On any given visit, the scents of sizzling tofu, lemongrass, and spices gently mingle as small batches come together with care. The menu—the heart of the experience—is not about variety in abundance but about celebrating a handful of specialties that carry stories and traditions. Crispy, golden fried tofu and savory tofu skins invite you to savor textures and flavors that feel both nourishing and grounded.
Cash is king at Tuyết Tofu, adding to its unpretentious, old-school vibe, and customers learn quickly that the best finds often arrive early in the day before the limited selections soften with the afternoon’s ebb. Even if there’s a quiet pause as you arrive, the kindness in how you’re welcomed offers a vivid reminder that food here is a conduit for connection, not just consumption.
For anyone drawn to the quieter pleasures of simple, authentic Vietnamese cooking and a space that feels closer to home than a restaurant, Tuyết Tofu offers a quietly joyful discovery—a place where every moment spent feels both genuine and unhurried.

Small mom and pop shop selling fried tofu (plain, lemongrass), sesame balls, grilled pork sausage, fried pork sausage, fried VN egg rolls, and other VN snacks. Not much of a selection today, 04/15/21. There were two women working and they were I the back when I arrived. No one else was in the shop. The woman that helped me was nice. I just got 6 pieces of fried tofu (3 for $1) and 4 pieces of lemongrass tofu ($0.75 each). I’ve never had their tofu before, but I was in the neighborhood and wanted to check them out. Doan off of Jupiter and Walnut is the usual spot where I get my fried tofu, but they only sell plain fried tofu and no other flavors. The spot probably has more selection of foods on the weekends. Cash only.

Local small shop that takes only cash. I frequent here for their fresh fried tofu, fried tofu skins and banh cuon. The owner is really friendly, but items area limited late in the afternoon. Early bird gets the worm.

I don't speak any Vietnamese but as long as you know what you want, they won't have any problem with you ordering in English. I love their fried tofu. Cash is a must or they have an app for it. No cards!
